As a UK based artist, I have been making artworks all of my life. Born into a family of creatives, I completed a degree and worked as a freelance illustrator for over a decade. After having my family I moved into portraiture, and have been working to commission as a portrait artist for the past twenty years. This time has been interspersed with a number of moves; from Birmingham; the Cotswolds; Qatar in the Middle East and now Devon. Each move has brought different life challenges and influences on my work.
More recently I have been painting my own pieces; nudes and figures, traditional subjects with a contemporary twist.
I have also been working on a more personal collection, using my body parts to explore my own emotions.
All through my artistic life, the human figure has been the over riding subject of my work. Exploring and celebrating emotions and character, the joy and fragility of life is what I strive to depict in both my portraiture and my own pieces.
I hope that everyone who owns a piece of my work will enjoy it for many years to come.
